She’s kept a low profile since welcoming her baby into the world with long-term boyfriend Scott Sinclair.
But now Helen Flanagan has opened up about the birth of her first child – which went on for three days – while professing her undying love for six-week-old Matilda in an exclusive interview withOK! magazine.
The ex-Corrie beauty, who was almost two weeks overdue before giving birth to her daughter at a hospital in Birmingham, recalled the moment she screamed out for pain relief during her intensely painful and drawn-out labour.
‘Matilda was in the back-to-back position, which made it even more painful. At one point my back was hurting so much that I screamed out for the doctor to give me an epidural,’ the former soap actress revealed.
But the besotted new mum explained how her gruelling labour only made Matilda’s arrival more special, as she remembers feeling overwhelmed after the delivery.
‘I couldn’t keep my eyes off her. It made the pain I was in all worth it – she’s a dream come true,’ Helen gushed, as there was no denying her happiness.
And Helen continued to recall the eventful day of her daughter’s birth, as she admitted to falling in love with Matilda the moment she saw her.
She said: ‘I was staring up at Scott and Matilda thinking, she’s my world. I’m completely obsessed by her, though, I can’t stop hugging and kissing her.’
Of his girlfriend and their baby daughter, Scott added: ‘I love that we’re a proper family now.
‘I have a new-found respect for Helen after watching her go through a three-day labour.’
Helen hasn’t been able to resist posting photos of her newborn on social media, one such picture showing the doting mother giving Matilda a loving kiss.
The couple, who announced their pregnancy in December 2014, confirmed the arrival of Matilda Jessica Sinclair on their social media accounts six weeks ago.
Helen posted a sweet picture shortly after the birth and said: ‘on Monday the 29th of June 2015 at 8:04 am, weighing 7lbs 6oz at Good Hope Hospital.’
‘#sheismydream #dreamcometrue #mydreambaby,’ she added.
Helen has been with the Aston Villa footballer player for six years now and the birth marks the start of their little family.
