What’s In The Box? Chassis, carrycot, raincover, seat unit,

First Impressions: We loved the beautiful colour and thought it looked very sleek and stylish. It seemed very compact and was easy to assemble.

Seat and Recline: We mainly used the carrycot as our son is still a baby. It was something we had not given much thought to trying before, as we had a compatible car seat and thought that would be all we would need for the first couple of months.

I have to say that Archie has been so content and happy in the carrycot. There is plenty of space for him to wriggle around and the hood extends far enough forward to provide protection from the cold and wind. The mattress inside has a luxury feel and he sleeps very well inside it. I add a blanket to keep him warm but found that the apron ontop also helps keep the warmth in.

Seat: We tried the seat unit with a friends child and it is very secure and reclined with ease. We were all very impressed with the padding and comfort. It would certainly last a child till approx 3 years of age.

Basket: The basket is slightly on the narrow side but was deep enough to put one small bag in. This was not a big problem for us as we always have a car when we go shopping.

Fold:  With our previous pushchair, I always had a problem folding and lifting it into our car as it was incredibly heavy. The Oyster Gem folds up very easily and fits perfectly into the boot. I can’t stress how invaluable I found this. It was easy to do, light to pick up and just suits our family life so well.

Push: You can really notice the cleverly built in suspension. It is smooth to push and even my husband remarked on the adaptable handlebars. We have enjoyed going for long walks together and find it really easy to navigate in and out of places.

Hood & Raincover: The hood and raincover are a perfect size. The hood extends to a nice length which kept Archie protected and snuggled up inside. The raincover was easy to put on and the first time I attempted it, it had started to rain.

Overall Verdict: We absolutely LOVE this buggy! It fits into my small car perfectly, enables me to assemble it independently (and one-handed), looks very stylish and stands out from the crowd..
