Ryan Reynolds has only been a father for a few months, but he has already learned a lot about his baby, James.
The 38-year-old actor talked about his daughter with Blake Lively, 27, when he visited The Today Show on Wednesday to talk about his new movie, Woman In Gold.
Already a protective daddy to James, Ryan explained that he didn’t want his girl to follow in her parents’ footsteps by becoming an actress.
‘I worry that my daughter’s going to want to go into show business,’ Ryan told Today host Willie Geist.
When questioned further, Ryan admitted: ‘You worry about really stupid stuff.’
‘You sort of sit there and go: Oh gosh, is she gonna want to do this? I like to whisper in her ear, like really normal everyday jobs.’
Ryan said he pictured James as a flight attendant or a barista, but he was concerned that the girl might aspire to be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader.
‘I do not want my daughter to be a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, although I imagine it’s an exciting life,’ he said.
Since she was born in December, James has brought changes to both of her parents’ lives, especially with regard to scheduling.
‘You never cross over, you never work at the same time,’ Ryan said of how the parents were dealing with busy schedules and a child.
‘You make sure that we’re all together. It involves a little bit of sacrifice, but that’s a small, small sacrifice for the grand scheme of things.’
