20 things that you should pack in your hospital bag

It may be worth checking with your local hospital what you are allowed to bring into the hospital as they can be short on space but here are 20 really useful things that we recommend you pack in your hospital bag to make you comfortable and your life a bit easier.

  1. Water cooling spray for your face to keep you cool.
  2. Socks so your feet don’t get cold.
  3. A Phone Charger so you can call your family, friends and take lots of lovely photos.
  4. Change incase you or your partner need anything from a vending machine or for the car park.
  5. Snacks to keep up your energy levels.
  6. A nightie for during labour and loose clothing to change into afterwards.
  7. Toiletries, hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste and a sponge
  8. Maternity Pads for after labour.
  9. A comfortable maternity bra and breastpads to make you comfortable.
  10. A feeding Pillow to support you and baby whilst feeding your new bundle of joy.
  11. A comfy pillow from home to make you feel more at home during labour.
  12. Hairbands to tie your hair back if need be.
  13. A birthing ball if you are planning to use one.
  14. A tens machine if you are planning to use one.
  15. A dressing gown incase you are walking around the hospital.
  16. Big knickers that won’t be restricting.
  17. Arnica cream that helps with healing.
  18. Magazines incase you are waiting for things to get started.
  19. Lip Balm because your lips can dry easily
  20. Water to keep yourself hydrated.
