Ashton Kutcher reveals inspiration behind baby daughter Wyatt’s name

It is a name most often associated with a boy or a family surname, rather than that of a baby girl.

But Ashton Kutcher has revealed he and partner Mila Kunis’s inspiration behind Wyatt Isabelle – his newborn daughter’s rather unusual moniker.

‘We had another name picked out,’ he told Conan O’Brien during an appearance on his talk show on Tuesday night.  ‘We got pregnant a couple of weeks after we picked the name but when we were pregnant, the name didn’t fit the energy we were feeling. One night, Mila was like, “This is not the name.” I was like, “okay it’s not the name.”

So the couple went back to the drawing board.

‘I had to get the creative juices going, so we were going to a Lakers game, and I got name tourettes,’ he recalled.

‘I just started listing off anything and everything I saw: “sign, truck, wall, door…” She [was] like, “Shut up!”  I said, “if you don’t accept my bad ideas, you’ll never accept the good ones.”

‘Then I was like, “I’ve got a really dumb idea. What about Wyatt?” She goes, “That’s it.”

And Wyatt’s middle name was chosen in honor of Mila’s heritage.

‘We gave her the name Isabelle after Mila’s grandfather, who was Yitzhak. And so it has a little heritage,’ added Ashton.

Once they’d chosen the name, the tech savvy couple were quick to register it on the world wide web.

‘We immediately went home and reserved all the domain names,’ he revealed. ‘We’ve got the Twitter handle – the Instagram – everything you could possibly get –  I don’t want a porn site with my daughter’s name!’

And 29-day-old Wyatt even has her own email address.

‘We write her emails,’ said Ashton. ‘One day she’ll be able to look at it and see the kinds of things people had to say.’

Since Wyatt was born on Wednesday October 1 in Los Angeles, Mila and Ashton have both taken time off to care for their little one.

‘We’re really privileged that we have time and can afford to take time,’ he told Conan. ‘So we don’t have a nanny or a night nurse of any of the stuff. It’s just the two of us.’

Ashton is clearly enjoying every minute of fatherhood.

‘It’s unbelievable. It’s the greatest thing on earth,’ declared the 36-year-old. ‘As soon as this child was born, I immediately wanted to call my parents and just apologize because I never knew how much they loved me.’

And he proudly revealed he has developed a knack for looking after little Wyatt.

‘Staying home the first couple of weeks, I’ve learned the little things that will calm down the baby. So I feel like I’m the baby whisperer now,’ he grinned.

‘I like to give the baby to my friends and let it cry for a second. Then be like, “Let me just take care of that.”

‘It fulfills this hero things I have. I have this personal – I want to be a hero ego thing,’ he added. ‘That sort of hero fantasy I have is completely satiated!’

Luckily, little Wyatt isn’t giving the famous twosome too many sleepless nights.

‘I feel like we got a good one,’ he said. ‘We put her down and she sleeps. We wake up a couple times a night, and that’s it. I feel really blessed.’

The trio will also be dressing up for Halloween –  ‘We’re going as the three little pigs,’ he revealed. ‘Not my idea, but I’m sucking it up.’
