PICTURES showing a barber going the extra mile to give a little autistic boy his first haircut have gone viral.
James Williams, 26, was trying to cut little Mason Lewis’s hair – but the boy, who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder a few months ago, found the situation distressing.
The devoted hairdresser, from Wales, had been trying to think of a way he could trim the four-year-old’s hair without upsetting him for a while, and finally he succeeded.
By getting Mason to lie on the floor and play on a phone, he distracted him and the little boy was comfortable letting the hairdresser chop his mop.
Photographs, which have been viewed more than two million times, show the determined barber giving Mason his “first proper haircut” on the shop floor.
