Baby’s First Christmas Dinner

Your little one’s first Christmas is a special time for the whole family. It’s difficult for baby to appreciate the beauty of Christmas in their first year, but including them in the tradition of Christmas dinner is the perfect place to start. The festive weaning recipes below are delicious and easy to prepare using the Tommee Tippee Steamer Blender.

TURKEY AND VEGETABLE PUREE

Roast turkey may be too tough for your little one, but this tasty combo means they won’t miss out on the tradition. Dice 50g turkey breast and steam for 10 minutes. Add 50g carrot, 50g parsnip and 50g broccoli and steam for a further 15 minutes. Drain excess water and blend for 20-30 seconds.

SWEET POTATO AND CARROT MASH

What’s a Christmas dinner without mash? This baby-friendly sweet potato and carrot blend is the next best thing. Steam 100g sweet potato, 90g carrot and 10g spinach for 15 minutes, drain excess water, then blend for 20-30 seconds.

SPROUT SMASH

Start them young on sprouts, a Christmas dinner staple whether we love ‘em or loathe ‘em. Steam 15 small Brussels sprouts for ten minutes, add 100g peas and steam for a further five minutes, then blend.

STUFFING

These stuffing balls make the perfect festive finger food for your weaning baby, or can be mashed into the rest of their dinner. Blend 4 slices bread with a pinch of parsley and thyme for 20-30 seconds. Melt a knob of butter and saute with 1 chopped onion and 1 chopped stick of celery. Mix the onion and celery well with the breadcrumbs and herbs. Form into balls and bake for 15-20 minutes.
