Samia Ghadie has welcomed her first son into the world with fiancé Sylvain Longchambon.
The Coronation Street actress, 33, took to Twitter to announce the news on Monday morning, following the birth on Thursday, revealing the couple have named their child Yves Joseph.
She wrote: ‘@Slongchambon and I are so happy and in love beyond words with our beautiful boy.’
Samia, best known for playing Maria Connor on the soap, welcomed the tot via caesarean section with the newborn weighing in at 8lbs 9oz.
In an interview with OK!, Samia – who is already a mother to daughter Freya, six, with her ex-husband, property developer Matt Smith – revealed the name Yves is a tribute to Sylvain’s brother, with middle name Joseph chosen out of respect for her late father.
Sylvain, who Samia met when they were partnered on Dancing On Ice in 2013, also took to the social networking site to reveal how thrilled he was with the new arrival.
He wrote: ‘I’m so happy and in love with our beautiful boy and so proud of my @realsamia (and in love with her too!)’
Samia was last pictured taking her daughter on a trip to the theatre in Manchester to see Annie on Wednesday, a day before she went into labour.
Samia and Sylvain confirmed they were dating in March 2013 after much speculation.
The pair maintained they got together after he split from Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe, who was also his former Dancing On Ice partner.
They announced they were expecting their first child together on Twitter in March this year and became engaged in April, which they also confirmed with a social-media post.
Samia split from property developer Matthew Smith in January 2011 and is planning on marrying Sylvain in 2016.
