The Eurostar will always be my favorite way to travel with the children. It is the most simple way to reach another country. There are no long check in’s, endless security checks and unhelpful staff that you can find on some airlines. We must have travelled atleast 15 times with the kids over the last few years. Visiting a number of cities in search of family friendly accommodation and attractions.
When Eva was a baby it was just as straight forward. The Eurostar teams were always happy to greet us and help in anyway they could. I never feel under pressure when boarding the train as I had the peace of mind that if anything was to go wrong, there would be someone to help.
It is exactly the same as boarding a train except you have luggage to take onboard. Each ticket has an allocated seat, once you find your carriage and seat number, you don’t have to wait to long until the train departs. There is even a special carriage dedicated to families onboard which allows extra room for children and luggage.
Standard class is a great way to travel. If you book in advance, you can reserve a table onboard which is always nice if you are travelling as a family and would like to all sit together. There are power points on board so you are able to charge your mobile or device if need be. A restaurant is located onboard where you can pick up snacks or drinks. We always take a few nibbles with us and pick up anything extra from there. The seats are comfortable enough to lean back and relax in. I always felt that we had plenty of room to stretch out and relax.
First Class is a wonderful experience. There are extra staff, complimentary magazines and food and drink is brought to your table. The children enjoyed the extra attention and it was such a treat not having to worry about organising food for everybody. There is also extra room which was greatly appreciated and overall, if I could travel First Class every time, I definitely would.
The Eurostar can take you to a number of destinations. Further information can be found at www.Eurostar.com. We departed and as we stepped off the Train into Gare du Nord, we were finally in Paris.
You can book directly from www.Eurostar.com. There are always lots of special offers on if you book in advance.
