Annabel Says: Berry fruits such as blueberries and raspberries are bursting with nutrients to give your baby’s immune system a boost. Frozen fruit is a convenient alternative to fresh and is just as healthy too.
Ingredients
150g (5oz) blueberries
250g (9oz) raspberries
1 ½ -2 tbsp caster sugar
35g (1 ½) porridge oats
250ml (9fl oz) milk
Method
Put 100g (4oz) of the blueberries and 150g (5oz) of the raspberries into a saucepan with the sugar. Stir until dissolved then simmer for 3-4 minutes until the fruits have softened.
Push the fruits through a sieve into a bowl to remove the seeds and skin. Add the remaining whole fruits to the purée.
Measure the porridge oats and milk into a saucepan. Bring up to the boil and simmer for 3-4 minutes until the oats are cooked. Serve with the fruit compote.
