He only became a grandfather for the first time less than two months ago.
But Sir Richard Branson is positively beaming after welcoming his third grandchild into the world.
The entrepreneur’s son Sam Branson has become a father for the first time, with wife Isabella Calthorpe.
Proud new dad Sam shared a picture of himself cuddling his newborn with his wife and father looking on affectionately.
And Richard himself shared a sweet message on his official website’s blog, along with another adorable picture of the little girl, whose name is Eva-Deia and was born on February 19.
‘Delighted to share the wonderful news that Isabella and Sam are the proud parents of a new baby girl: Eva-Deia Branson,’ he wrote.
‘She was born at 4.39pm on February 19th, weighing 7.14oz. Joan and I are the luckiest grandparents alive to have three beautiful healthy grandkids in the space of two months, and Bellie’s parents Mary Gaye and Jo are equally ecstatic.’
He added that he had been spending time in the British Virgin Islands, but ‘had an instinct to catch the plane back to London’, which meant he made it back for the birth in time.
‘Joan and I were lucky enough to get to the hospital before the birth, and within a few hours of my landing, Eva-Deia arrived,’ he wrote.
‘It was a magical moment watching Bellie and Sam welcome their child into the world; I’ve never seen them look happier and Sam was jumping for joy,’ his touching message continued.
Richard also explained that the unique name – Eva-Deia – was inspired by Sam’s grandmother Eve, and a village in Majorca that they love, called Deia.
Sam – who married in a high-society wedding in South Africa in March 2013 – also shared a picture of the baby girl on his Instagram page, writing: ‘Introducing @belliebranson and my precious daughter Eva-Deia. Such a calm beauty!’
The Branson family is growing fast: in December, Richard’s daughter Holly and her husband Freddie Andrewes became first-time parents to twins Etta and Artie.
Both of Richard’s children revealed their baby news within a month of each other back in 2014.
And the grey-haired tycoon, 64, is clearly getting into the swing of being a grandparent, as he was seen out in Notting Hill with Etta and Artie at the weekend, pushing them along in a pram for a day out.
In his most recent post, he revealed that he had been taking them out to buy presents for their new little cousin, who had been born days earlier.
‘Very soon the proud parents were able to bring Eva-Deia home to meet her cousins, Etta and Artie,’ he wrote. I popped to the shop for some baby gifts with Etta and Artie in tow; then we spent a glorious Sunday afternoon together as a family with all three babies.
‘It marked the start of a new life for us all.’
