Sausage with Caramelised Grapes and Onion

This dish is a great way to bring sausages to life and is popular with kids and grown ups alike. It’s really simple to make and costs less than a fiver in ingredients.

You will need:

6 x Pork Sausages (Plain pork or cumberland work well)
1 large White Onion, chopped
2 x Clove of Garlic, chopped
1 tbsp Mixed Herbs
3 tbsp Red Wine Vinegar (or a good glug)

Preheat a frying pan, and pour in a glut of Olive Oil. Put your sausages in, and let them cook on a low heat for around 10 minutes, or until they’ve gone a good golden brown colour.

Then put your grapes in and cook for around 5 minutes or until they start to soften, before adding the onions, garlic, mixed herbs and red wine vinegar in along with some salt and pepper to taste.

At this point, the pan will start to hiss so just bring the temperature all the way down to the minimum and let everything cook together for five minutes ensuring you keep the ingredients moving in the pan.

Serve.

This dish is great with buttery mash or rice, but for a healthy option serve with a nice green salad or some grilled halloumin and tomato.
