The Giant Wiggle and Cawston Press

The Event:

Action for Children has teamed up with Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar to create a unique and fun fundraising event, The Giant Wiggle.

On Thursday 19th March, toddlers up and down the country will be wiggling like hungry caterpillars to help raise money for the charity.

The Giant Wiggle itself will see tens of thousands of pre-school children undertake sponsored ‘wiggles’ – giant caterpillar conga lines – across the UK. As well as wiggles, many events will incorporate storytelling, arts and crafts, nature trails and healthy eating – all aspects of this much loved children’s book.

Cawston Press Involvement:

Cawston Press, the pressed juice expert, is a proud supporter of the Giant Wiggle and to make sure as many people as possible get involved, will feature the event on packs of its Kids’ Blends drinks in the run up to 19th March.  For further information visit

All money raised through the event will support Action for Children’s work across the country to help vulnerable children, young people and families in the heart of communities. Action for Children provides early years child development, learning and childcare services to thousands of children throughout the UK, through its children’s and family centres.

In 2014, 32,000 children from 750 nurseries, playgroups and children’s centres wiggled along – in the process collecting over £80,000.
