“We’ve gone where no other children’s magazine has gone before to bring the beloved Clangers back to a brand new audience. Children have always wondered ‘What’s out there’ and Clangers Magazine takes them on an intergalactic learning journey where the reader can explore their magical, friendly space community (not forgetting the Soup Dragon!). There’s plenty to raise a giggle or two and I hope parents and grandparents will enjoy spending time with their little ones sharing the stories, helping the Clangers to solve problems and getting to know more about these quirky space-dwellers that we all know and love.” Clangers, Editor.
The Clangers magazine motto is discover, wonder, play and explore and the magazine covers all areas of this. It is packed full of activities that really help with areas of the Early Years Curriculum. There is a space for the reader to write their name, practice their numbers and it even encourages them to get up and be active which we haven’t come across before in a pre school magazine.
We loved the sticker page and the amount of sticking there is to do. Lots of children love stickers and it was great to see our little testers find them and match them up to the appropriate areas on the different pages with big smiles on their faces.
The first issue has a lovely A-Z poster which is bold in colour, clear and would make a nice addition to a little ones bedroom. There is a creative activity where parent and child can make Tiny’s Slide and Music Boat. This was hugely popular and we had a few requests for cereal boxes and milk bottle lids which we didn’t have in the office but would be easy to collect.
Overall we think this is a great pre school magazine. There is such a great combination of activities and you actually feel like a child can learn things from it. As parents we like to see our children enjoying themselves and this ticks all of the creative boxes. At £2.99 it is great value for money.
