Annabel Karmel’s Rice Krispie Reindeers

Snap, Crackle Pop! These Rice Krispie reindeers are so simple to make and kids will love to be put in charge of adding Rudolph’s antlers, eyes and shiny red nose!

MAKES: 12 KRISPIE REINDEERS

Ingredients

100g butter

200g golden syrup

100g white chocolate

Pinch of salt

200g Rice Krispies

Decoration

Red M&M’s

Edible eyes

Black writing icing

White icing pen

Wooden lolly sticks

Method

Measure the butter and syrup into a saucepan. Stir on a low heat until runny. Add the white chocolate and pinch of salt. Stir until melted and smooth then add the Rice Krispies.

Line a 23cm square baking tin with non stick baking paper. Spoon in the mixture and press down firmly using a potato masher. Chill for 2 hours.

Turn out and slice into bars about 7cm long and trim the edges. Insert the lolly sticks into the centre of the bars and chill again for 30 minutes.

Decorate as reindeer by sticking on the edible eyes using the white icing pen. Add a red M&M nose and pipe antlers using the black writing icing pen.
